Hot: A Loft-style Office Space by Viktoriia Shkliar

Unconventional Design Meets Cost-Effective Approach in a Multifunctional Office Space

Inspired by the space itself, Viktoriia Shkliar creates a loft-style office space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The design, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018, is a testament to the power of creative freedom and bold decisions.

Hot, as the project is aptly named, is a unique office space designed by Viktoriia Shkliar and Olga Antontseva. The design was inspired by the space's height, reaching up to 4.5 meters, and the use of simple materials like cardboard columns and plywood. The result is a multifunctional space that caters to the needs of a modern office while maintaining a loft-style aesthetic.

The office space was created for a friend's company, with the goal of creating a multifunctional space that is cost-effective yet confident in its design. The entire interior was made in one color layout, contributing to the integrity of the space. Lighting was strategically placed to focus on important details and textures, such as the columns that accentuate the height of the premises. The depth is added by black curtains hung almost along all front walls.

The office is divided into three internal zones: an office part for the comfortable work of the team, a central zone for training courses and seminars, and an exhibition area for the presentation of products. The kitchen area and toilets are located in the remote part of the office, ensuring a seamless flow of activities within the space.

The design project, which began in April 2016 in Ukraine, was completed in November of the same year. Despite the challenge of implementing an interesting interior on an area of 330 m2 with a budget of only 15000 dollars, the design team was able to create a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Shkliar's design emphasizes the fact that when a client provides freedom of thought and action, it can lead to unconventional, bold decisions. This philosophy is evident in the design of Hot, which combines a cost-effective approach with a confident, unique design. The project was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018, a testament to its remarkable design and innovation.
